The SPD team contributed to Excellence in Design
During the Design conference in Croatia – Excellence in Design – our research team contributed and was present in many ways. Together with the Africa Design Initiative, we had a workshop that emphasized that Inclusive design, co-creation, and collaboration in the value chain are key components that need to be integrated as natural parts of the design process to contribute to sustainable product development. This is particularly important when products and solutions are developed for users at the bottom of the pyramid. Adam Mallelieu also presented a paper on that topic to introduce a new support tool for developing sustainable projects in areas related to the bottom of the pyramid. We also had success with a rewarded paper presented by Arindam Brahma on Circular products: the balance between sustainability and excessive margins in Design. The conference offered excellent networking possibilities and we will continue our discussions with research teams around the world.
